Kathryn Newton Celebrates Summer in Prada Crochet Cage Sandals at Wimbledon 2024
The 2024 Wimbledon Championships started on July 1 and will conclude on July 14.
Kathryn Newton attended day six of the Wimbledon Championships 2024, held on July 6 in England.
The “Lisa Frankenstein” star was styled in a pair of breezy Monolith crochet cage sandals from Prada. Reimagined for the summer season, Newton’s footwear featured textural tan crochet uppers, subtle platform soles and adjustable buckle closures. Additionally, the silhouette was fitted with an oversized caged construction, non-slip rubber soles and striking enameled metal triangle Prada logos fixed to the front and short stacked block heels, making the silhouette instantly recognizable.
The designer sandal retails for $1,420 and also comes in black. Prada’s Monolith cage sandals mix experimentation and tradition, bridging the gap between the two by implementing heritage and all-new designs.
Prada features a variety of militaristic silhouettes under their Monolith line, including lug sole boots, loafers, oxfords and Chelsea boots. Each style is often crafted of neutral black brushed leather and features logo hardware, making the silhouette instantly recognizable.
In a similar summer-centric style, the “Abigail” actress wore a white and blue striped polo dress in a collared maxi-length style. The thespian layered a cream-colored cardigan over her shoulders and accessorized her look with a crochet Prada headband and large black sunglasses featuring oval-shaped frames. Finally, Newton toted a woven mini bag, also from Prada, featuring brown leather accents and a gold chain shoulder strap.
The 2024 Wimbledon Championships started on July 1 and will conclude on July 14. The event is one of the biggest tennis competitions of the year and will feature appearances from big names like David Beckham, Poppy Delevingne, Rebel Wilson, Dave Grohl, Princess Olympia, James Blake and Pink Pantheress, among many others. Last year, Carlos Alcaraz took home his first Wimbledon title on the men’s side, while Marketa Vondrousova won on the women’s side, securing her first Grand Slam victory.
