Bargain hunters were stunned when they spotted the Taste Loaded Lemon Cake reduced from £15.50 to a shocking 10p.

The moist and fluffy lemon-flavored sponge base, generously infused with zesty lemon syrup for added tanginess and moisture is the go-to for those who enjoy citrus desserts.

One shopper was ecstatic to find the delicious treat at a great reduction price.

Sharing her purchase on Facebook, she posted a snap of her delicious dessert.

Alongside a cake emoji, Angela wrote: “Sainsbury’s at 8.30pm.”

Fellow shoppers were stunned with the great bargain and couldn’t wait to snap it up.

One user commented: “Wow that’s probably the best yellow sticker reduction I’ve ever seen. Just fabulous.”

Another added: “Got the same cake last week at Sainsbury’s reduced to £1.99.

“I still thought I got a bargain, but 10p wow well done.”

How to save money on your supermarket shop

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.

Even a former employee was surprised, saying: “I often saw these cakes reduced when I worked at Sainsbury’s, but never this low!”

A fourth person replied: “Amazing! Best bargain of 2024 so far.”

It comes as shoppers have been rushing out to get themselves a “fantastic” chair which is currently scanning for less than £2.

Fans of the discount supermarket Aldi are getting excited after the offer was spotted by a thrifty shopper.

The bargain hunter spread the word by taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to tell the other members.

Along with pictures of her purchase, they wrote: “Camping chairs £1:99 Aldi very cheap” although clearly they had been selling quickly as the poster added: “Got the last one.”

It’s not known which Aldi store they were bought from.

Other savvy shoppers were suitably impressed.

One wrote: “Fab find”.

Another added: “Bargainnnnnn”, while many others simply made their pals aware of the deal by tagging them in their post.
