I’m mid-50s but people tell me I look early-40s – my rosacea cleared right up with a $10-per-bottle shampoo on my face

Redditor GuiltyBluebird2339 shared the skincare trick in a post.

She explained that she occasionally gets candidiasis infections caused by the proliferation of yeast in places like the skin, belly, or mouth.

Candida symptoms can include itchy skin, rashes, blisters, pain, soreness, burning, and discharge.

“I have rosacea and sometimes get candida,” she said.

“[It’s] very itchy when I sweat. My doctor told me to start using Selsun Blue as shampoo and body/face wash.”

While the technique isn’t cut out for everyone, she explained that it worked wonders for her, including an unintended anti-aging benefit.

“Probs not for everyone, but my rosacea cleared up, and rashes went away,” she said.

Another benefit she noticed is the reduction of dry and flaky skin and incoming compliments from strangers.

“I’m [in my] mid-50s, and people tell me I look early 40s,” she said.

“Ten dollars/bottle/month, and it’s the only thing I use along with mascara. (Full disclosure, I also spend [money] on Botox, which I am not ever giving up). Worth every penny.

Selsun Blue, an anti-dandruff shampoo with 1% Pyrithione zinc, is formulated to “prevent and eliminate itchy scalp and visible flakes.”

“Selsun Blue Moisturizing anti-dandruff shampoo is a maximum strength formula with 1% selenium sulfide as the active ingredient to help prevent and eliminate itchy scalp and visible flakes associated with dandruff,” Target’s website said.

Shoppers praised the shampoo’s effectiveness in clearing up their skin conditions.

“I have really bad eczema, and the breakouts on my scalp cause a flaky mess,” wrote one reviewer.

“This shampoo has been the ONLY thing that has worked for me.

The trick, however, is to establish a routine schedule for your usage.

“You have to remain consistent when using it, and it did take a few weeks,” they said.

“But after a few weeks, my flare-up subsided, and I had NO more flakes.”

They were shocked that the shampoo worked better than the prescription products they owned.

“This works better than the medicated eczema shampoo I had,” they said.
