Money awarded to help improve Albany County parks

Several parks in Albany County will be receiving funding as part of a new program.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Several parks in Albany County will be receiving funding as part of a new program. The money will be coming from the Municipal Park Improvement Grant Initiative.

County officials said they set aside the funds to help kids and families have places to hang out in their communities. The money will be used to help renovate current parks as well as build new ones.

Monday's announcement was for the first wave of funding. A second wave will be coming in the near future.
