Texas women's hoops lands No. 4 recruit in the country for 2025

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Longhorns women's basketball program landed one of the top recruits in the nation Monday.

Aaliyah Crump, a 6-foot-1 combo guard from Minnetonka, Minnesota, chose the Longhorns over Duke and Ohio State. She's the No. 4 overall recruit for the Class of 2025 according to ESPN.

Crump won a gold medal with Team USA at the 16U AmeriCup tournament and led her high school to the Class 4A state title averaging 24.5 point seven rebounds and three assists per game. She was named the MaxPreps girls basketball Minnesota player of the year.

It's another big win on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns and head coach Vic Schaefer. He put together the top recruiting class in the country for 2024, headlined by 5-star prospects Jordan Lee and Justice Carlton, and now he's trying to do it again.

There are other big recruits from the 2025 class Texas could reel in. Aaliyah Chavez is the top-ranked recruit in the country by ESPN, and the Lubbock Monterey point guard is one of three players with a 98 ranking (out of 100) by ESPN. She's considering both the Longhorns and Louisiana State.
