Man Utd now want to sign £30m Euro 2024 star who agreed personal terms with Arsenal - report
Manchester United are aiming to bolster their full-back department and they are currently interested in one of Turkey’s best players.
According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the Red Devils are very interested in signing Fenerbahce star Ferdi Kadioglu.
The club are yet to make an official offer to the Super Lig outfit, but he is currently on their shortlist.
United will meet on the player’s side in the coming days to discuss the possibility of a transfer.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with Arsenal last month after they agreed personal terms with him. It was reported that Fenerbahce could sanction his sale for £30 million.
Kadioglu could be a perfect signing for United
The Turkey international started off his career as an attacking midfielder and a winger, but he has transformed into a regular full-back.
The right-footed star can comfortably operate on either side of the back four, but he made 42 appearances from left-back last term.
At Euro 2024, Kadioglu showed his class with a passing accuracy of almost 87 percent. He won a stunning 66 percent of his duels with 3.6 tackles, five recoveries and two clearances per game.
The former NEC Nijmegen man also completed 67 percent of his take-ons with an average of more than two key passes. In our view, he would perfectly fit into manager Erik ten Hag’s plans.
Kadioglu is well suited to operate as an inverted full-back from either side. He could be seen as a back-up for the injury-plagued Luke Shaw from the left-back position for the Red Devils.
He could also compete for places with Diogo Dalot at right-back with Aaron Wan-Bissaka tipped to leave. Fenerbahce could demand more than £30m on the back of his Euro 2024 displays.
