Both teams were strong in the circle on Sunday, but Team New Zealand was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-1 victory over HILL UNITED CHIEFS. MICHAL HOLOBRADEK started the game for HILL UNITED CHIEFS and recorded 13 outs.

A ground out by TONY GONZALEZ put HILL UNITED CHIEFS on the board in the top of the third.

Cole Evans homered to center field, which helped Team New Zealand tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.

In the bottom of the fifth, Team New Zealand broke up the tie when an error scored one run. Then a wild pitch followed to extend the lead to 3-1.

MICHAL HOLOBRADEK started the game for HILL UNITED CHIEFS. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs (one earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking three. Rona Pita began the game for Team New Zealand. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking two.

NICK SHAILES went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead HILL UNITED CHIEFS in hits. QUINTEN BRUCE led HILL UNITED CHIEFS with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. HILL UNITED CHIEFS turned one double play in the game.

Rielly Makea, Wayne Laula, Phys Evans, and Cole Evans each collected one hit for Team New Zealand. Cole Evans led Team New Zealand with one run batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Team New Zealand turned two double plays in the game. Team New Zealand didn’t commit a single error in the field. Tane Mumu had the most chances in the field with seven.
