Amish Patel is an award-winning esthetics practitioner and skincare expert at Intrigue Cosmetic Clinic in Kent, England.

Speaking to The U.S. Sun, he revealed the little-known tricks for rejuvenating skin around the eyes.

DIMINISH DARK CIRCLES

Patel said caffeine is often touted as the cure for dark under-eye circles because it boosts circulation and restricts blood vessels.

He said the ingredient can help to minimize the appearance of hyperpigmentation and reduce puffiness, but the results are only temporary.

“Dark under-eye circles can be caused by loss of volume in the aging process, in which case, tear trough dermal filler would be a more appropriate and longer lasting treatment,” he said.

He revealed hydrating skin is another way to reduce the appearance of bags under the eyes.

“Using a hydrating lightweight serum around the delicate eye area is essential, as is getting a good amount of sleep and drinking lots of water to help reduce under-eye bags,” he said.

REDUCE PUFFINESS

Patel said natural ingredients such as slices of strawberries and cucumber can banish under-eye puffiness when applied topically.

“But equally, eating cucumber, as they have a high water content and contain vitamin K, silica, and sulfur,” he said.

“This will help increase the elasticity of blood vessels, boost collagen, and support the skin to help reduce the appearance.”

He revealed cucumber isn’t the only food that can visibly transform aging skin.

“Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, goji berries, and mulberries are vital superfoods to add to your diet,” he said.

“They are bursting with antioxidants that support collagen production and sustain healthy skin.

“Tomatoes are also a great addition to your diet because they boost blood circulation, supplying oxygen to the tissues, which can help reduce inflammation and puffiness.”

Patel revealed some several foods and drinks should be avoided to keep skin at its healthiest.

“Excessive caffeine, energy drinks, alcohol, sugar, or salt, can dehydrate and cause inflammation in the body, which can result in under-eye puffiness,” he said.

The beauty advice comes after Patel recommended wearing SPF Factor 50-year round to avoid damaging skin.

He told The U.S. Sun that daily routines should also include retinol and hyaluronic acid to stimulate cell production and plump.

He said fine lines and wrinkles can be targeted with a chemical peel or “vampire facial” instead of Botox.
