AC Milan look set to step up their interest
According to Corriere Dello Sport (as relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb), AC Milan are set to submit a new offer for Emerson Royal after seeing their opening offer turned down.
Emerson Royal is now back at Hotspur Way for pre-season training along with the majority of the Tottenham first-team squad, however, the writing looks on the wall for the right-back, who has been widely backed to leave the North London club this summer.
AC Milan are thought to have stepped up their pursuit of the Brazilian over recent days and the latest update on the matter now comes from Corriere Dello Sport.
The report reveals that there is still some difference in the respective valuations of the two clubs, with the Serie A giants seeing their €12m offer for the defender turned down by the Premier League side.
An improved bid for Emerson Royal could be set to happen
The Rossoneri are now aware that they need to improve their bid in order to sign Emerson and they are expected to submit a €15m offer for the players in the ‘next few hours’.
The outlet adds that while there is no guarantee this will be enough to convince Tottenham, the latest offer is expected to ‘accelerate’ the negotiation process between the two sides.
During the 2023/24 campaign, the right-back made 24 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, with 11 of those coming from the bench (WhoScored).

By most accounts, Tottenham want €20m for Emerson and if Milan are willing to go up until €15m, I would perhaps expect the difference to be sorted out between the two sides (potentially with add-ons) over the next few days.
