ITV schedule shake up as Love Island is AXED from normal timeslot – here’s how you can watch it early

LOVE Island has been axed from its normal slot on the telly schedule – and fans are guaranteed to be less than impressed.

The matchmaking series is being pushed back on ITV2 just when drama in the Love Island villa reaches its peak.

So fans don’t have to choose between sport and sexy antics, ITV2 will air Love Island at 10pm following the final whistle[/caption]

With model Uma Jammeh, 23, quitting the show – in scenes yet to be seen – fans will need to wait until 10pm on ITV2 for their Wednesday fix.

The programme will be delayed an hour on the channel due to England’s Euro 2024 clash against the Netherlands playing out on ITV.

Kick off for the semi final match is at 8pm – so by pushing to 10pm for Love Island, broadcaster ITV is giving sporting and reality telly fans alike to enjoy both.

Yet The Sun can reveal how those purely interested in Love Island antics – and a school-night bed time – can enjoy the one-hour episode at the regular 9pm time.

This is because a spokesperson has confirmed it “will be available to stream at 9pm on ITVX as usual” – meaning no change for those who tune in online.

It isn’t the first time the matchmaking series has been forced to make way for the football challenge.

Back in June, towards the start of the competition in Germany, the England vs Slovenia coverage meant Love Island fans needed to change their viewing habits.

On that occasion, the episode aired on ITV2, at 10pm.

At the time, fans expressed their rage at the changes on social media site X.

One wrote: “I’m hearing Love Island was delayed for football and all for England to play s**t??? Fuming, never let that happen again please xo”

Another confessed: “Had to wait an extra hour for Love Island because of the football and England didn’t even win? smh.”

A third remarked: “Rather watch #loveisland than boring boring #england play football.”

TELLY TROUBLES

Added to the tension in the Love Island villa, is the nerve-jangling prospect of England reaching the Euros final on Sunday.

England have only beaten the Netherlands once in nine matches since the side’s 4-1 win at Euro 96.

Name: Reuben Collins (right side of image)

Age: 23

Job: Account assistant in Surrey

Bit about him? He said: “Sometimes I can be a bit too honest. At the end of the day I’ll go for who I want and if I have to step on toes I will.

“I don’t mind making a bit of a fool of myself.

“I love a bit of eye contact. I speak a little bit of Spanish, so I’ll use that to get the girls’ attention.”

Name: Josh Oyinsan

Age: 29

Job: Semi pro footballer and model in Dartford

Bit about him? He said: “I’m picky! I’m very picky. I get the ick easily…I’m looking for a genuine connection, someone who is easy-going, funny, beautiful and fun.”

On Saturday, England triumphed in a 5-3 penalty shootout win over Switzerland on Saturday, having drawn 1-1.

Meanwhile, the Dutch beat Turkey 2-1 in the quarter-final courtesy of Stefan de Vrij hitting the back of the net and a Mert Mulder own goal.

Despite the schedule change, viewers can still watch Love Island at 9pm on online streaming service ITVX
