Man Utd ‘have £42m Leny Yoro bid ACCEPTED’ after Everton turn down Jarrad Branthwaite transfer offer

MANCHESTER UNITED have had a £42million offer accepted by Lille for defender Leny Yoro, according to reports.

The Red Devils remain keen on Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, but saw a bid of £35m rejected by the Toffees.

And now, after they reportedly made a second bid for Branthwaite, they are closing in on a deal to sign France U21 international Yoro, 18, following his impressive season with Lille.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 club are urging the centre-half to accept Man Utd’s proposal.

However, he remains more keen on a transfer to Real Madrid and is still waiting on the 15-time European champions.

It is now up to Yoro to decide whether to join Erik ten Hag‘s men or pass up the opportunity in the hope a Bernabeu transfer goes through.

The talented youngster made his debut for Lille just one day after his 16th birthday.

He has already racked up 60 first-team games and broken through into France’s U21 side.

Yoro is also expected to feature for his country at their home Olympic Games this summer.

Man Utd are in need of reinforcements at centre-half after Raphael Varane was released at the end of his contract.

Victor Lindelof is also being linked with a move away as Fenerbahce monitor him closely.

Ten Hag’s side conceded 58 goals in the Premier League last season – seven more than Branthwaite’s Everton despite finishing seven places higher.

It is understood Man Utd’s second offer for the English defender is £45m plus £5m in add-ons.
