One in custody after commercial fire in NW Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a building on fire Tuesday morning.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a building on fire Tuesday morning.

According to OKCFD, crews responded to a business near NW 3rd St. and McKinley Ave. around 5 a.m. after previously responding to that same business around midnight regarding a trash fire.

Upon arrival, flames could be seen coming from the roof. Officials say the building was very secure, but once firefighters entered, they quickly got the fire under control.

"They rapidly had to cut holes through the front door," said Battalion Chief Grant Roberts with OKCFD. "Once we made our cut and got in there, it went out fairly quickly. It was just more getting access because the building was very well secured."

Officials say the Oklahoma City Police Department has one person in custody they believe is responsible for the fire.

No injures have been reported.
