Ex-Latinos for Trump lawyer to plead guilty to Jan. 6 rioting

A former Latinos For Trump attorney is set to plead guilty to being part of the Jan. 6 uprising, Newsweek reported Tuesday.

Kellye SoRelle had been hit with four charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding after telling other rioters to delete information from their phones.

Court documents reviewed by Newsweek show she has reached a plea deal with prosecutors, though details of the agreement have not yet been released. She is due in court Wednesday.

SoRelle was also general counsel to the right-wing militia group the Oath Keepers and has offered free legal advice to several groups associated with the MAGA movement.

In June last year, SoRelle was ordered to undergo mental health evaluations after a judge suspected her unfit to stand trial.

"The Court finds by a preponderance of evidence that Defendant is presently suffering from a mental health disease or defect rendering her mentally incompetent, to the extent that she is unable to understand the nature and consequences of the proceedings against her or to assist properly in her defense," wrote the judge.
