The 43-year-old was quickly rushed to Son Espases Hospital in the island capital Palma to undergo emergency help.

The horror fall unfolded just before 2pm on Tuesday at the popular four star resort in Puerto Pollensa known as Pollentia Resort & Spa.

The unnamed tourist is understood to have fallen over the balcony ledge before smashing into the concrete floor below.

Police are said to be investigating reports that the man was arguing on the phone with someone moments before he drastically toppled over.

Shocked witnesses and hotel staff who saw the fall were the first to contact the emergency services.

Local police from Alcudia Town Hall arrived on the scene along with two ambulances to help the stricken tourist.

It isn’t clear if the British man was on holiday with friends and family or if he was staying at the resort alone.

Investigations into his fall are ongoing with the man still receiving treatment.

Just weeks ago, another Brit was left with serious injuries after he fell from a first floor balcony in the holiday hotspot.

The 27-year-old was rushed to hospital in the early hours of the morning.

Neighbours claimed they saw him leaning out of the window of a Palma flat before he fell head first to the ground.

The man was seen being ushered onto a stretcher and wheeled into the back of an ambulance before getting treatment.

A German tourist suffered a similar accident but his fall resulted in fatal consequences.

The 24-year-old died after he fell 40ft off his balcony after a night of partying, say local media.

Emergency services rushed to the Timor hotel in Playa de Palma but found the man lying motionless.

A month earlier, a Brit tourist was left fighting for his life after he fell from the third-floor of an apartment block in Magaluf.

The man, aged 25, was rushed to hospital with “very serious” injuries to his face and head.

The UK government sent out a warning against dangerous behaviour close to balconies at the start of the holiday season this year.

A statement read: “There have been a number of serious accidents, some fatal, involving British nationals falling from height, including from balconies.

“Do not take unnecessary risks around balconies or other high places, particularly if you’re under the influence of drink or drugs.

“If you are staying in a room with a balcony, follow the safety advice at the hotel or apartment, and watch out for friends who may be at risk.

“In some regions you may be fined or evicted from your hotel if you are found to be behaving irresponsibly around balconies.”
