Suspect arrested after stabbing at Tigard Transit Center

A man is in custody after police said he stabbed another man several times during a fight at the Tigard Transit Center.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man is in custody after police said he stabbed another man several times during a fight at the Tigard Transit Center.

According to Tigard police, on July 7, officers responded to the Tigard Transit Center after reports of a disturbance with a weapon.

At the scene, authorities said they learned that there had been a fight and one of the men had stabbed the other several times before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police said they worked with witnesses to get a description of the suspect and then they also learned that he had taken a bus into Sherwood, where he was arrested.

The suspect, Diego Armando Gonzalez-Hernandez, 22, was taken into custody and faces charges including first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, harassment, interfering with making a report and another outstanding warrant.

The victim is expected to survive, authorities said.
