Local nurse shares journey through Africa in new book

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A local nurse is spreading an empowering message after going nose to nose with wild animals in Africa.

Jan Boal is an author, life coach and registered psychiatric nurse who lives on the Oregon Coast.

Her new book "Safari for the Soul" follows her trek through the wild and shares her experience of self-discovery to help others overcome life's everyday challenges.

AM Extra was joined by Boal to talk more about her book and her journey in Africa.
