According to Tutto Juve, rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Federico Chiesa has now decided to leave the Serie A this summer rather than join another Italian club.
Chiesa could be set to leave Juventus this summer
If reports over the last week are to be believed, Federico Chiesa is expected to depart the Allianz Stadium this summer, with the Bianconeri allegedly willing to accept a fee of around €25m (£21.6m) with add-ons for the player, who has one year left on his contract (Fabrizio Romano).
It was reported by GiveMeSport last week that Tottenham are the winger’s most likely destination this summer if he does decide to move to the Premier League this summer.
However, AS Roma are also thought to be keen on securing the Italy international, with manager Daniele De Rossi said to be a fan of the former Fiorentina man (TuttoSport via Roma Press).
Keen on a Premier League switch
TuttoJuve have now offered Tottenham a boost in the race for Chiesa by claiming that the attacker prefers to move to the Premier League.
The report explains that although the 26-year-old is attracting interest from Italy, no Serie A club is expected to be able to able to pay him close to what he earns at Juve.
It is alleged that Chiesa believes that clubs from England would be able to match his current £150,000-a-week salary.
Spurs Web Opinion
Chiesa must be a tempting option for a few Premier League clubs, given the modest fee he will be available for, although his salary is on the higher side.
I would be surprised if Tottenham pushed ahead with a move for the Juve player this summer.
