Zuora and Ebanx partnered to enable Zuora’s customers to accept local payment methods in 13 countries in Latin America and two in Africa.

The collaboration will support the global expansion of subscription-based and recurring revenue businesses, the companies said in a Tuesday (July 9) press release emailed to PYMNTS.

“Having a local partner like Ebanx is crucial to streamline market entry and accelerate growth in Latin America and Africa,” John Phillips, senior vice president of global alliances at Zuora, said in the release. “By integrating Ebanx’s capabilities, we can help our customers access essential payment methods to succeed in these regions.”

Zuora offers a suite of monetization tools that supports companies’ recurring revenue growth, according to the company’s website. The tools encompass pricing and packaging, billing, customer acquisition and quote-to-cash.

Ebanx provides a payment platform that enables global businesses to connect with hundreds of payment methods in countries across Latin America, Africa and Asia, the press release said. Giving people access to buy in international digital commerce helps companies increase sales and deliver seamless purchase experiences.

In the case of Zuora, the integration with Ebanx will help digital businesses, such as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) firms and others with recurring revenue streams, grow in the 15 countries included in the partnership. It will facilitate payments with credit and debit cards, including ones that aren’t enabled for cross-border purchases, as well as Pix payments.

“We are happy to partner with Zuora and make our technology and solutions available for their merchant base,” Gregory Cornwell, vice president of global channels and business development at Ebanx, said in the release. “And, beyond that, to work together in helping connect these players to the immense potential of [Latin America’s] and Africa’s digital markets.”

Ensuring that local consumers’ needs are met, especially when it comes to payments, is key to success in high-growth markets, Erika Daguani, who was vice president of products of Ebanx at the time, told PYMNTS in an interview posted in February 2023.

“At the end of the day, the one who will choose the right payment method will be the end user,” Daguani said.
