Gov. Kelly announces new communications director

TOPEKA (KSNT) - On Tuesday, Governor Laura Kelly announced that a new face has joined her staff as communications director.

Ana Nixon will be the new communications director for the Governor's office. Nixon has experience working for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, the City of Grandview, MO, and as a communications specialist at Fike Corporation.

“I am confident that Ana’s skills and leadership experience will make her an invaluable part of my team,” Kelly said. “I welcome her expertise and look forward to working with her in this role.”

Nixon holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in Brazil and a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Kansas, according to the Office of the Governor.

“I’m honored to be part of Governor Kelly’s team and lead communications efforts for her office,” Nixon said. “I’m eager to help Kansans have greater insight of matters of their government.”
