Murder investigation underway in Edmond after dead body is found

A chilling 9-1-1 call led investigators to what they say was a body found at the Coltrane Mini Storage in Edmond.

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — A chilling 9-1-1 call led investigators to what they say was a body found at the Coltrane Mini Storage in Edmond.

According to Edmond Police, the suspect is 36-year-old Kyle Fedus.

He was arrested on Saturday at an Edmond LaQuinta hotel for an outstanding warrant in North Carolina for violating probation on a robbery charge.

Police say he also gave a chilling admission.

"He ended up confessing to a pact he had with this female where they would both take their own lives outside this storage facility. That's his side of the story. Of course we don't have hers," said Emily Ward with Edmond Police Department.

According to the affidavit, Fedus said he and the victim, Elyse Betz, were in Oklahoma hiding from police due to his warrant. And if they were caught, they'd both commit suicide by injecting themselves with deadly doses of drugs.

The affidavit also says the suspect used a pre-made syringe of Fentanyl mixed with Meth.

Investigators say the relationship between the two has not been confirmed. However, police say the two were staying together at an Edmond Best Western.

Edmond PD says Elyse was found on her stomach, and the suspect did not call 9-1-1 for help.

Elyse's family has been notified.

Edmond Police say Fedus has been charged with first degree murder and is now in the Oklahoma County Jail.
