Two arrested in Poughkeepsie for alleged armed robbery

Two people from Hyde Park have been arrested in connection to a robbery investigation, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two people from Hyde Park have been arrested in connection to a robbery investigation, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Ashley Rizzo, 25, and Keith Woodin, 41, were both charged with second-degree robbery.

On July 5 around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to 778 Main Street in Poughkeepsie for the report of an active armed robbery. Upon arrival, police found the victim, who claimed they were threatened with a knife before having their personal property taken by two suspects.

Officers were able to locate a man and a woman near the scene who matched the descriptions provided by the victim. The pair, identified as Woodin and Rizzo, were taken into custody shortly thereafter.

In addition to the second-degree robbery charge, Woodin was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Woodin and Rizzo were both held pending their arraignment.
