Because of the Heat’s position against the luxury-tax aprons, the team’s offer only was available if completed in the prior salary-cap year, ahead of Martin’s ability to solicit outside offers. “I mean, you’re always gonna wish you make as much money as you can, you know what I mean?” Martin said Tuesday. “That’s part of the game.
