One in custody after business catches fire in NW Oklahoma City

It was a rude awakening for Juan Flores Moreno after his mom rushed into his room around midnight.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - It was a rude awakening for Juan Flores Moreno after his mom rushed into his room around midnight.

"She woke me up and just told me, ‘Johnny, there's a fire outside right across the street,’” said Flores Moreno.

Authorities confirmed Bryan Jackson set fire to the trash cans outside a tire shop near Northwest 3rd St. and North McKinley Ave.

Amid all the chaos, Flores Moreno said his mom noticed something else very unusual.

"We didn't know how he lit the fire because he was all naked,” said Flores Moreno. “Full, naked, everything was off.”

Oklahoma City Fire Department Battalion Chief Grant Roberts said when crews got to the scene the trash cans were smoldering.

“Somebody had set them on fire, so they extinguished those, looked around. They didn't see anything else,” said Roberts.

However, hours later firefighters were called back to the area again. This time the entire tire shop was engulfed in flames.

The smoke could be seen from miles away.

"A lot of petroleum products,” said Roberts. “Tires and stuff like that, it'll put off a lot of smoke."

Jackson was taken into police custody.

The fire department told KFOR Jackson had lighter fluid and fuel on them and told investigators he “just wanted to set something on fire.”

The fire department also confirmed Jackson was nude at the time. Jackson is facing second degree arson charges.

"The fire across the street, the fire department, the news, everything. It feels like a dream,” said Flores Moreno.
