NYRA hosting food tasting event ahead of summer meet

The New York Racing Association gave fans a little taste of the food that will be served at the track this summer.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The summer meet at the Saratoga Race Course begins on Thursday. The New York Racing Association gave fans a little taste of the food that will be served at the track this summer.

NYRA hosted a food sampling event at the track on Tuesday. Officials said they are expanding the options this year to accommodate fans who have different dietary restrictions.

Many fans bring their own food when they visit the track, but NYRA officials hope fans will try something new.

"We really want to make sure that there's offerings here for everybody, and if you bring sandwiches, that's great, have your sandwiches, but then also come and try some new food as you kind of wander around our food and beverage experience around the track," NYRA Food and Beverage Dir. Gian Rafaniello said.

A number of local businesses will be at the track this summer to give fans from out of state a sense of what the Capital Region has to offer.
