Newest Topeka coffee shop celebrates grand opening

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A new coffee shop in the capital city celebrated its grand opening.

On Tuesday, "Higher Grounds Coffeehouse & Deli" opened its first physical location is located on Topeka Boulevard next to Laird Noller Ford. Higher Grounds started as a food truck, and after more than a year's worth of hard work they were able to build this coffeehouse.

With the capabilities of a brick-and-mortar shop, the coffeeshop was able to double the size of their menu.

"The community has been amazing, so this whole week that we've been open has been awesome," Terra Salser, Higher Grounds co-owner said.

"My favorite thing that makes this place unique is it's not just breakfast and coffee, although it is," co-owner Jordan Noller said. "She has amazing cookies, she has amazing breakfast items, she has egg bites, but it's a deli, salad, you can come here for lunch and dinner in an afternoon or early evening meals, and so it's like a fast-food place that is not that unhealthy, fast-food quality and I love that."

After Thursday, July 11, the owners say the coffee shop will be open for their regular hours, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
