During Tuesday’s edition of Morning Live, the TV hunk shared the worrying update with fans.

He said: “Some Eagle-eyed Morning Live viewers spotted an account pretending to be me.

“I have no idea what’s going on, luckily someone we know does.”

It came as Morning Live hosted a segment on online scammers with expert Nick Stapleton.

After Gethin revealed his online woes, Nick replied: “It’s not so much about me being on Facebook sites, it’s about conning people out of their hard-earned cash.”

Nick also shared an update on the eye-watering number of accounts impersonating people digitally on Facebook.

He said:  “Between January and March, they’ve taken down 631 million accounts globally.

“This gives you a sense of where we’re at here, this is gigantic numbers of fake accounts we’re talking about.”

Meanwhile, Gethin was recently left completely mortified by his TV presenter colleagues after he was shut down live on air.

The former Blue Peter star was kicked out of the daytime studio as he was sent to cover Wimbledon.

Helen Skelton and Sara Davies were on hand to present the BBC One show from Media City HQ.
