The 44-year-old shared a montage of snaps on Instagram to break her own career news.

Sascha said: “After 21 years (and by the look of it, about as many hairstyles) it’s time to bid farewell to ITV.

“It’s been one heck of a ride, working some of the absolute best in the business.

“Will miss them lots (Though probably not the 4am alarm).”

Sascha then used the hashtags “last day” and “new adventures”.

The broadcaster began her career at ITV Anglia, working on ITV News Anglia as a production journalist in 2003.

Three years later she was promoted to be an on-screen reporter and presenter.

In 2009 she went on to become freelance – often seen on Daybreak, ITV News and ITV News London.

Sascha became a well-known face on the national ITV News at 5:30pm.

She was also a newsreader for ITV News London, which broadcasts on Good Morning Britain, before becoming permanant staff at ITV News in 2013.

The journalist was praised by viewers and colleagues after announcing her departure.

“You’re brilliant. Good luck and very well done,” said one.

Another said: “Good luck – wishing you all the best on your next chapter – adventure, wherever and whatever it is, you’ll absolutely slay! It Sascha.”

Someone else said: “A real pleasure to have worked with you – good luck with the next adventure x.”
