Tokyo's Nikkei, Topix end at new record highs on optimistic economic outlook

TOKYO, 10th July, 2024 (WAM) -- Tokyo's Nikkei and Topix stock indexes closed at all-time highs in choppy trading Wednesday, led by gains in technology and financial issues, as optimism continued to spread about the economic outlook.

According to Kyodo News, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 251.82 points, or 0.61 percent, from Tuesday at 41,831.99.

The broader Topix index finished 13.65 points,
