Report: Italian club now working hard to land rumoured Spurs target

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have now stepped up their interest in Albert Gudmundsson and are determined to win the race for the Tottenham target.

Fiorentina are keen on Albert Gudmundsson

Tottenham continue to be mooted as a potential destination for Albert Gudmundsson this summer, with CaughtOffside claiming a couple of weeks ago that the Lilywhites are battling West Ham United and Inter Milan for the 27-year-old.

Last month, the print edition (29/6/24) of Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) revealed that Spurs have reached out to Genoa over a deal for the versatile forward, who is allegedly valued at around €30m-€35m.

Fiorentina step up pursuit in Spurs target

Gazzetta dello Sport now claim that Fiorentina have begun their advances towards Gudmundsson, having identified him as a ‘dream signing’.

The report claims while the Serie A side have not submitted any offer for the Icelandic international, they do hold a ‘concrete’ interest and are now working hard to put together a suitable proposal for the player.

The publication adds that Inter are also considering a move for Gudmnunsson, while more than one Premier League sides are also keeping tabs on the situation.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no evidence to suggest that Tottenham’s interest in Gudmundsson went beyond the initial exploratory stage, with the Lilywhites seemingly now focused on other attacking options rather than the Genoa player.
