Man stabbed at Port Authority Bus Terminal subway stop; 4 men wanted: sources

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police are searching for four men after a man was stabbed at the Port Authority Bus Terminal subway stop late Tuesday, sources told PIX11 News.

It happened on the southbound A, C and E train platform off of 8th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. The 31-year-old victim was stabbed in the abdomen and transported to Bellevue Hospital, according to the NYPD.

The stabbing followed a clash involving the victim and the four men, believed to be in their 20s, sources said.

Another stabbing was reported at the Times Square subway station around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A 25-year-old man is in custody after slashing a 24-year-old man during an argument, according to authorities.

The victim was also taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Both incidents come after MTA Chairman Janno Lieber lauded new NYPD data showing subway crime is down roughly 7% in the first half of 2024 compared to this time last year.

The MTA is working with prosecutors to ensure repeat offenders aren't just arrested and released, Lieber said.

Lieber also highlighted that subway crime is down 11% from 2019, which is before the pandemic.

Mayor Eric Admas previously called for the NYPD to dispatch 1,000 officers daily into the subway system to contain crime earlier this year. Adams and MTA leadership said there is still more work to do to make the system safer.
