WSOP Main Event player gets eliminated thanks to a brutal bad beat after a 91 percent chance of winning

Oh NOOOO!

Oof. We’ve seen some wild hands so far at the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event from heroic folds before the flop to a pretty bad beat on the river.

But this one? Brutal. Just brutal.

Boris Bershadskiy went in on a hand with a pair of 8s with three other players, including Adam Vinczeffy and his pair of Aces that he raised with and Bershadskiy called.

The flop included an 8, giving Bershadskiy three-of-a-kind. BOOM. He checked, Vinczeffy bet 12,000 chips … and Bershadskiy went all in with his 89,000 chips. Vinczeffy had more than 316,000, so he called.

The only thing keeping Bershadskiy from winning was one of the two Aces left in the deck in the final two cards. That’s a 91 percent chance of winning.

Guess what came out on the turn? Oof.

That’s the worst.
