The Youth Development Centre at Oriel Park was the venue for PayPal’s Global Impact Day where employees from 35 offices across the globe switched off their laptops and came together to support local businesses and designated charities.
The YDC was a hub of activity on June 26th and 27th as PayPal employees helped to pack gift bags for local charities Women’s Aid Dundalk and Foróige with products from local businesses such as Mackin’s Leather Goods, Carroll’s Gifts and McEvoy’s.
The PayPal team had exclusive use of the facilities at Oriel Park with Ma Brady’s providing everyone with some delicious food and catering in the Lilywhite Lounge.
“Our colleagues had a wonderful day seeing their fellow volunteers in person while working together for a truly great cause and we would like to thank all the fantastic small businesses and charities that took part on the day to make it so unique,” said: James Abel, PayPal Ireland’s Virtual Site Leader.
“We would also like to say a big thank you to all of our PayPal employees, including Dundalk’s own Maria O’Toole (PayPal Community Impact Team), who made the two days such a success, as well as Dundalk FC for supporting us with the use of Oriel Park.”

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to community engagement and positive impact. It was great to see local Dundalk businesses involved, supporting such important causes as Women’s Aid Dundalk and Foróige.
“It was our pleasure to provide the venue for such a worthy cause and facilitate a vibrant atmosphere for PayPal staff to connect and engage.
“The day generated significant enthusiasm around Oriel Park, underscoring the power of collaboration in achieving common goals. We appreciate PayPal’s dedication to our community and look forward to continuing this successful partnership.”
