Retail arbitrage just means reselling a product on for profit.

It is completely legal in the UK, as, once you own an item, you have the right to resell it.

In a TikTok video, the retailer revealed that he had gone into his local Aldi, and found some blankets on sale for £25.

He then went into four more Aldis and piled his trolley high with every single blanket on the shelves.

“I bought every single one of these”. he said.

Using an app called BuyBotGo, he scanned the blankets, and the app told him how much they are selling for on Amazon, and how many times they have been sold in the past month.

He discovered that the blankets were selling for a whopping £72, meaning that he would make £32 profit from each blanket after the Amazon selling fees had been deducted.

He calculated that from reselling the items, he would make £700, for just two hours of work.

The reseller will make a profit on the items by reselling them using Amazon FBA.

Amazon FBA is a service that online sellers can use, where Amazon takes care of the storing, packing and shipping of your products.

So all he will have to do is send the products off to Amazon and wait for the money to roll in.

The video has likely struck a chord with many people as it has gone viral, racking up over 6.9 million views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts, with many accusing the man of being selfish.

One person said: “Imagine struggling to stay warm so you pop down to Aldi to buy a blanket, but somebody has bought the whole stock”.

A third person said: “Greedy! People are poor”.

A fourth added: “It’s a shame that those who really needed it couldn’t get it as you bought them all”.

A fifth chimed in: “This is why I can never find anything at Aldi”.
