Steam developer leaves disturbing message for player following negative review and the community is in shock

THERE’S a video game for even the most mundane things these days, including chores like lawn mowing and power washing.

One release from February this year emulates those penny pushers that you often see in small arcades.

Coin Pusher Casino isn’t lighting the world on fire, but it has a small yet dedicated fanbase of players.

Many of the players have spent tens, if not hundreds, of hours pushing coins out of the virtual machine.

However, the community has seemingly turned against the game after a developer left a disturbing comment on a negative review.

The Steam user, who had more than 120 hours playing Coin Pusher Casino at the time of writing their review, had some critical things to say about the game.

They compared it more to a beta release, claiming that some things are left unfinished, and that many of the levels are not properly balanced.

One of the developers using the screen name jv.van.dijk responded to the negative review with the message “Kill Yoursells” before quickly deleting it.

However, the user saw the comment immediately and was able to screenshot it before the developer was able to delete it.

The reviewers replied: “I screenshotted your comment, I will report you to Steam.”

Jv.van.dijk responded with a thumbs down emoji which was also screenshotted by the user, with both images included in their review.

Abusive messages such as the one above, despite the spelling error, are against Steam’s terms of service and are not allowed on the platform.

The developer of Coin Pusher Casino. Tree Nuts Games has apologised for the message and claims to have fired the person in question.

Its statement reads: “We recognise the gravity of the situation and have taken immediate and decisive action.

“The developer responsible has been terminated and removed from the team.

“We are committed to ensuring that such incidents do not occur in the future.”

Steam reviews for the game have gone from Mostly Positive to Mixed following the incident with players adding comments to their reviews such as “We all know why.”
