Liverpool will not be making a move to trigger the release clause of one of the stars of this summer’s Euro 2024 before it expires on Monday, according to the Daily Mirror.

Reds boss Arne Slot is in the process of taking stock of his squad at Anfield and he is also likely to have a close eye on Euro 2024.

RB Leipzig man Dani Olmo has scored three times in the three knockout games to help Spain reach the final of the European Championship this summer and is one of the standouts in the tournament.

He has largely been expected to leave RB Leipzig this summer due to a £50m release clause in his contract.

However, his suitors are facing a race against time to trigger the clause as it is set to expire on Monday, the day after the European Championship final.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Olmo but it has been claimed that they are not interested in signing him.

The Reds are not considering triggering the clause ahead of the deadline as the Spaniard is not a key target for the club.

Chelsea are another Premier League side to have been linked with Olmo, but they are not trying to sign him either.

Whether other Premier League sides are keeping track of the situation is unclear, however the clock on the clause is ticking.

Clubs in Spain are pondering over paying the clause to sign Olmo from Leipzig this summer.
