I am prone to strawberry legs but my 3-pronged routine helped greatly – a grocery store buy leaves my skin soft & supple

IF you deal with strawberry legs, it’s time to strike back and get summer-ready results.

A few simple steps and a cheap grocery store buy will help keep skin smoother than ever, according to a shaving whiz.

SCRUB IT SMOOTH

Redditor Antichoccymilk shared their method for getting a better shave.

“I am prone to KP [keratosis pilaris] and hyperpigmentation, this routine greatly helped me!” they said.

To help reduce the bumpy redness associated with these conditions, they incorporate their three-pronged technique before the shaving even begins.

“I massage my legs with coconut oil two to three hours before so they’re soft and supple,” they said.

“I do this since my legs are dry and shaving makes it peel ridiculously later,” they added.

If you want to give your own leg-shaving routine a leg up, you can purchase Fresh Organic Coconut Oil which is on sale for $5.46 on Amazon.

They also use another affordable product – and it’s not even meant for legs.

“I scrub my legs with the St.Ives Oats Scrub instead of using it in my face!” they said.

“You could use any but Oats is gentle on the skin and I personally like this one.”

Lastly, they make sure to wash everything off with lukewarm water.

MORE SHAVING TIPS

They also had some other tips to make the shaving process go more smoothly – literally.

“I suggest using a shaving foam to soften the hair so you don’t have to go at your legs over and over again, but you can also use a conditioner,” they said.

They also recommend making sure your blades are as sharp as possible to prevent rashes and cuts.

And this time, you’ll want to wash off with cold water.

Once you’re finished shaving, they want you to pat everything dry with a clean towel.

“This is important because you probably just created mini cuts in your skin and your hair follicles must be clean of bacteria and dirt,” they said.

LOCK IT IN

To keep your skin hydrated, you can use a thick moisturizer or aloe.

You can then seal in the moisture with another affordable item – Vaseline.

There is also work to be done at the first sight of a new hair strand.

“You’ll have to physically exfoliate it so it doesn’t grow into your skin, basically causing KP. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate,” they said.

“I use the GUBB gloves from Nykaa. It’s the best,” they continued.

Some of their other favorite products include The Ordinary Peeling Solution and AHA Botanical Body Soap.

“AHAs, or glycolic acid are awesome for KP. It will take a few months but it will get better.”

Another Redditor was already eager to try these tips to eliminate their own strawberry legs.

“Yeah, will include glycolic acid in my routine now. Thanks,” they said.
