Nintendo Switch fans can play a great 85-rated Mario game completely free

NINTENDO Switch players have the chance to play one of the best Mario games in a genre completely free.

The offered game is also the latest in its series, so fans can play a relatively fresh title for nothing.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is now available to Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) members at not additional cost.

Until July 14, 2024, subscribers can download and play the game without paying, thanks to the Game Trails perk of NSO.

The trial is not time-limited, so players will be able to try the game for as long as they want before the deal goes away at 11:59pm PT on Sunday.

As Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope takes about 20 hours to complete, the deal gives NSO members plenty of time to finish the game.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a turn-based strategy game in the vein of X-Com, and a sequel to 2017’s Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

Developed by Ubisoft instead of Nintendo, it’s a crossover between the Mario and Rabbids franchises with characters from both series.

The game launched in 2022 to rave reviews and is still sitting on a massive 85/100 score on review aggregator Metacritic.

Many critics praised the game for improving upon Kindom Battle and featuring a more open overworld between battles.

It also improved the turn-based battle system of its predecessor and features better graphics.

Sparks of Hope is also the last game in which long-time Mario voice actor Charles Martinet lends his voice to everyone’s favourite plumber and his taller brother.

Martinet retired from the roles back in 2023 and became a Mario Ambassador.

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can grab the free trial right now and will have until July 14, 2024, to play the game.

To grab the offer, just launch NSO on your Switch, and you will see the game on the NSO Home screen.
