Two arrested in Malta after drug, weapon investigation

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of two people in connection to a drugs and firearms investigation.

MALTA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of two people in connection to a drugs and firearms investigation. Jason Brundige, 50, of Saratoga Springs, and Keella Weaver, 39, of Malta, were both charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On July 3, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the Roosevelt Motel in Malta as part of a longstanding investigation into narcotics and illegal guns being sold in Saratoga County. The Sheriff's Office was assisted in the operation by the Saratoga Springs Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Brundige and Weaver were taken into custody as a result of the search. Brundige was additionally charged with the following offenses:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Criminal possession of a firearm

Brundige and Weaver were arraigned at the Malta Town Court. Brundige was then remanded to the Saratoga County Jail without bail, while Weaver was released to pretrial services.
