Perrie Edwards reveals reason she’s putting off her wedding to football ace Alex Oxlade Chamberlain
PERRIE EDWARDS is putting off her wedding to Alex Oxlade Chamberlain – because she’s too busy working on the release of her debut album.
The singer, who got engaged to the footballer in 2022 and has a young son, Axel, said: “I feel like we’ve already planned it.
“In our minds we know and we talk about it a lot – Alex more so than me actually – which is really cute because he wants it to pop off.
“He wants a party, a performer, he wants it to be a big thing.
“I’m like, I know who I want as bridesmaids and this and that. It’s all kind of set in stone but we haven’t actually planned it yet.
“There’s a lot going on in my life right now, I’ve got so much. We’ve said about waiting for Axel to be older and then he can be a pageboy or whatever. It makes more sense.”
Perrie, whose debut solo single Forget About Us got to No10 in the charts, said she is still putting the finishing touches to the record.
The Little Mix star added on Australian radio: “I’m annoying but I’m still working on things.
“You get one chance and it has to be perfect. I feel like it is done but there’s little tweaks I want to do still.
“I will get there, it will definitely be pre-order this year I think.”
Ghetts at Stephen 50th gig
ACTS including Ghetts, Wretch 32 and D Double E are coming together to celebrate the legacy of Stephen Lawrence on what would have been his 50th birthday.
More Life, Pass The Mic is a one-off music event taking place at London’s O2 Arena on September 13.
Mahalia, Nao and The Kanneh-Masons are also lined up to perform in honour of the 18-year-old who was murdered in South London in 1993.
Stephen’s mum Doreen said: “Music has the power to touch people’s hearts and inspire shifts in how they view themselves and the world around them, much like Stephen did for those who knew and loved him, and the many who only know his story.
“September 13 will be a time for reflection and celebration and a moment to uplift the beauty and brilliance of our community.
“Together, we can make a collective commitment to building a kinder, more equitable society in Stephen’s name.”

Swamp fever
DREAMWORKS studios have confirmed Shrek 5 is happening and will be out in 2026.
Original cast members Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy will return to voice Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey.
Eddie also revealed there are plans for Donkey to have his own film.
Paul: I’m glad of burgers
PAUL MESCAL has admitted he loved gorging on junk food to beef up for his leading role as Lucius in the new Gladiator blockbuster film.
Pictures from the Ridley Scott sequel showed Paul looking absolutely stacked on screen.
When quizzed on Heart FM about how he got his muscles, the actor, below, said it was all down to burgers and chips.
He added: “It was honestly just a lot of weightlifting.
“And then the closer we got to filming we put in more cardio.
“But I literally had anything that I could have ever wanted.”

Emma wore a bright leopard-print trench coat and jeans as she went for a walk around the shops with Jesse, who has played with Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz since 2010.
An onlooker said: “Emma and Jesse went almost unnoticed.
“A few fans recognised her when she walked past but they looked just like any other couple going out to the shops together.
“They seemed very happy.”
Dua close-up with Wembley crowd
IT may be her biggest-ever gig, but Dua Lipa will still get up close and personal to fans when she plays Wembley Stadium next year.
I can reveal the Houdini singer is planning to jump off her giant main stage and walk almost the full length of the crowd to get to a smaller second stage at the back of the arena, just like Adele.
The move has been inspired by her Glastonbury performance last month which also saw her jump down into the crowd.
A source said: “Dua still can’t believe she gets to headline Wembley Stadium.
“She wants to make it feel like a giant disco and make sure everyone has the best seat in the house.
“Walking through the crowd during one of her songs allows her to feel intimate with her fans while performing to 80,000 of them.”

Dolls reunion hopes
NICOLE SCHERZINGER and The Pussycat Dolls may have constantly locked horns over the years but the former X Factor judge isn’t ruling out a reunion.
She said of burying the hatchet and hitting the road together: “I love the Pussycat Dolls. So, I always say, never say never. I’m obviously in a different place in my life right now, but you never know what the future holds.”
The group reunited in 2020 for comeback single React and were set for a tour before Covid.
By the end of the pandemic reports were rife the girls were at war behind the scenes and the tour was axed.
My oh my, Kylie’s back
KYLIE MINOGUE will today release her new song, called My Oh My.
The track, which is a classic Kylie pop banger, was created by her and Norwegian songwriter Ina Wroldsen, who masterminded comeback hit Padam Padam.
My Oh My features Tove Lo and Bebe Rexha and is the surest sign yet Kylie is continuing to make her mark on the US after spending her career trying to break the American market.
A source said: “Since the success of Padam and her last album Tension, Kylie has been inundated with offers from some of the biggest artists in the world. A new album is in the works but not before a special repackaged version of Tension, with a flurry of new tracks with some huge collaborators.
“Kylie plans to debut the song live at her huge British Summer Time gig in Hyde Park on Saturday.”
Closer to home, we previously revealed Kylie has been in the studio with British hitmaker Joel Corry and is tipped to announce a huge tour next year.
