An Ivy League college student’s body was found in a river after a party the prior night.

Dartmouth College student Won Jang, 20, was reported missing on Sunday afternoon following the social gathering, when he did not show up for an appointment, according to campus officials.

A search effort involving divers, an underwater camera and a drone ensued in the Connecticut River in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Jang’s body was found on Sunday evening near boat docks on the river using the camera, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

He was last seen on Saturday night near the docks, apparently for the gathering.

‘The entire Dartmouth community is grieving over the tragic loss of Won Jang,’ stated Dartmouth College.

‘Our counseling team has been by the family’s side since Monday, and Dartmouth is providing every possible support it can to Won’s parents, family and friends.’

Dean Scott Brown wrote in a message to the school community that ‘there is no indication that Won’s death involved foul play’.

On Tuesday, the college announced that it had suspended the Beta Alpha Omega fraternity and the Alpha Phi sorority. Officials did not provide a further explanation.

‘We are working closely with the Hanover Police Department, which is leading the investigation,’ stated the college.

Hanover police are investigating an anonymous report of hazing in connection to Hang’s death, WMUR reported.

Jang’s cause of death was not immediately determined.

The student from Middletown, Delaware, ‘enthusiastically took part in the Dartmouth community’ and was in a fraternity, a snowboarding team and started his own band, according to Dartmouth.

Jang died several months after University of Missouri student Riley Strain went missing after being kicked out of a bar in Nashville and stumbling away. His body was found in the Cumberland River and a medical examiner determined that he died from accidental drowning and alcohol intoxication. An investigation into his death was completed on Tuesday.
