Will Rece Hinds homer again today?

It’s a game against the Rockies, so probably.

Rece Hinds homered on Tuesday for the Cincinnati Reds, one day after he homered for the Cincinnati Reds on Monday. On Sunday, he was probably chilling on his couch in Louisville eating some delicious Bearno’s Pizza, wondering if he’d begun to find an offensive groove good enough to warrant him getting called-up at all.

He homered on Sunday, too, as part of a 3 for 5 day with 2 doubles for the Bats. For a streaky player capable of absolutely unleashing power binges on his opponents, Hinds seems to have timed his explosion quite well.

He’s in the MLB record books already, his 5 extra-base hits in his first 2 games played the most ever. He’s also hit his homers about as far as anyone ever could in GABP, depositing one into the upper deck of the left field bleachers last night some 458 feet from home plate.

Hinds will get yet another start in RF tonight, batting 7th for the Reds as they look to clinch the series victory over the utterly hapless Colorado Rockies. He’ll do so chasing the record of a former Colorado Rockies star, as Travis Story once socked homers in each of his first 4 games played in the big leagues.

First pitch is once again set for 7:10 PM ET. You might want to get your but to the park, or at least to the river to fish out Hinds’ latest homer.

In some non-Hinds news, Jonathan India is back atop the lineup after being a late scratch last night.

Go Reds!
