West Linn 12U squad raising money for Cal Ripken World Series

West Linn's 12U Select Baseball Team is heading to the Cal Ripken M70 World Series after recently winning the Pacific Northwest Regional.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- West Linn's 12U Select Baseball Team is heading to the Cal Ripken M70 World Series after recently winning the Pacific Northwest Regional.

The series takes place Aug. 7-17 in Branson, Missouri, and is a "one-in-a-lifetime experience," according to the team's coach Kevin Gunderson, who used to pitch at Oregon State.

The team is raising funds to assist with airfare, hotel accommodations, team meals and other expenses during the trip. They are attempting to raise $17,000.
