Annual Siro's Cup fundraiser benefits Center for Disability Services

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The 31st annual Siro's Cup took place Wednesday night to benefit the Center for Disability Services Foundation. The event serves as the kickoff to the Saratoga horse racing season, which begins on Thursday.

Several jockeys, trainers and horse owners took part in the event. Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott received the 2024 Siro's Cup Award. The center also posthumously honored Sen. Howard Nolan, Jr. for his work with the center and his contributions to horse racing.

"The center considers Siro's Cup to be one of our signature events because it brings in lots of sponsorship money and donations with our online silent auction," Center for Disability Services spokesperson Anne Schneider Costigan said. "It just introduces us to people in the community, especially the racing community that we may not be introduced to."

The silent auction included items such as jewelry and sports memorabilia.
