Today’s weather: More heat, more rains, and more storms

Thursday’s weather is set to closely resemble Wednesday’s weather, with high temperatures across the island to be met with rain and storms inland and in the mountains.

Hailstones are also possible in storm-hit areas, with higher winds than usual – up to five on the Beaufort scale – expected on the south coast.

Temperatures will rise to a whopping 39 degrees Celsius inland, 37 degrees Celsius on the north coast, 35 degrees Celsius on the southeast and east coasts, 33 degrees Celsius on the rest of the coasts, and 39 degrees Celsius in the mountains.

The skies are expected to clear in time for the evening, with clear weather to remain overnight. Temperatures will drop to 25 degrees Celsius inland and on the north coast, 24 degrees Celsius on the rest of the coasts, and 21 degrees Celsius in the mountains.

High temperatures and the possibility of rain is the flavour of Friday and the weekend, though temperatures are expected to drop slightly on Saturday before picking up again on Sunday.
