The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations announced that the UNHCR is building 65 houses for returnees in Daykundi province.

According to the ministry’s press release on Wednesday, July 10th, construction of these houses began yesterday in the city of Nili, center of Daykundi.

The press release stated that these houses would be constructed by the UNHCR at a cost exceeding $355,000.

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations of Taliabn stated that the construction of these houses will be completed by the end of the current calendar year.

This comes amid international reactions to the recent return of 8,808 Afghan citizens forcibly and voluntarily from Iran and Pakistan to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the UNHCR has announced the suspension of the expulsion of illegal Afghan migrants from Pakistan following the three-day visit of its High Commissioner to Pakistan.
