Iran-Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce: Afghan traders invest $3 billion in Iran

Mahmoud Siadat, the head of the Iran-Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce, emphasizes the importance of joint commercial activities between Afghanistan and Iran, noting that Afghan traders have invested over $3 billion in Iran.

According to the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), in a report published on Wednesday, July 10th, quoting Siadat, more than 50% of registered foreign companies in Iran belong to Afghan citizens.

Siadat stresses the support for Afghan economic actors to enhance bilateral trade relations, adding that “facilitating Afghan entrepreneurs’ interactions and addressing their challenges in Iran should be pursued; these are our greatest assets for our future in Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile, Afghan migration to Iran continues amidst extensive restrictions on migrants in the country.

Afghanistan has become one of the largest foreign investors in Iran in recent years, with significant growth reported in the past two years.

Meanwhile, the economic ties between Afghanistan and Iran, underscored by significant Afghan investments and the presence of Afghan entrepreneurs in Iran, highlight the interconnectedness and mutual reliance between the two nations.

Despite challenges, fostering supportive environments for Afghan businesses in Iran remains pivotal for sustaining and expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
