The victims of a horrific crossbow attack may have been held hostage for hours before they were ‘brutally murdered’, it has emerged.

Carol Hunt, 61, wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt, and two of their daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, were allegedly tied up and executed in what is being treated as a targeted attack at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on Tuesday.

Suspect Kyle Clifford, 26, who is thought to be Louise’s ex-boyfriend, was captured by armed police hiding out in a cemetery on Wednesday afternoon.

Last night, harrowing new details emerged of what happened inside the house before Mr Hunt arrived home from work to be confronted by a scene of carnage.

Police sources say all three women bore ligature marks on their wrists and faces, along with knee injuries suggesting they had been bound at one stage, the Guardian reports.

It is also understood that one called 999 before the suspect fled, with a source saying the victims may have been held hostage for hours beforehand.
