BBC in major crossover fans didn’t know they needed as THREE big shows come together for special episode

A TRIO of BBC daytime TV shows will come together and work on a bumper episode for BBC Children’s In Need.

A celebrity special of Bargain Hunt will see the team from property show Homes Under The Hammer go head to head with presenters from Escape To The Country, all in a bid to raise charity funds.

Filming started for the charity special on July 11, and will see experienced auctioneer Tim Weeks be joined by Nicki Chapman, Briony May Williams, Martin Roberts and Jacqui Joseph.

Commenting on the new show, Tim said: “We are really excited to welcome Pudsey and all of the Bargain Hunt team to Wessex Auction Rooms for what will be a fantastic day.”

He added: “In addition to the regular lots, we also have 33 really special experiences up for grabs including two VIP tickets to accompany me to a Bristol City home game, tickets to be in the audience of The Graham Norton Show, the chance to accompany Phil Serrell on a visit to the Museum Of Royal Worcester, a day behind the scenes filming Bargain Hunt, a dance lesson with one of the  Strictly Come Dancing Professionals as well as many more experiences that money can’t buy.”

Tommy Nagra, Director of Content at BBC Children in Need also shared his thoughts as he said: :We are delighted to see BBC powerhouses Bargain Hunt, Escape to the Country, and Homes Under The Hammer team up to raise funds for BBC Children in Need.

“The funds raised from the very special episode will go towards supporting children and young people to thrive and be the very best they can be.”

The trio episode will air in November this year, with viewers and the public able to get involved and bid on the items on offer.

This isn’t the first time BBC shows have joined forces, as earlier this week it was announced that BBC Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts would be appearing on another BBC show.

The property guru would appear alongside his Homes Under The Hammer co-star Jacqui Joseph as they make an appearance on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip together.

The pair, who are pals on and off screen, will take to the road and travel across the UK while hunting out treasures.

They will each have a budget of £200 and antiques experts will be on hand help them try to find the best items for their bucks.

Martin has also hinted that he might join another BBC show later this year, as he’s done nothing to quell rumours he will join the Children In Need Strictly Come Dancing special this year.

Speaking at this year’s TRIC Awards, Martin only added fuel to the fire as he revealed he might need to consider getting “super fit”.

He told the Daily Star: “I’m like a Ninja Mutant Hero Turtle – I just eat pizzas. Domino’s Mighty Meat. I’m the stomach of Domino’s, not the face of it.

“I should worry about what I eat because I had a health scare. I need to look after myself better.

“And certainly if I get this TV show later in the year. I’ll have to get super fit.”

The special episode of Bargain Hunt will air on 15 November as part of BBC’s Children In Need, and will be available on the BBC iPlayer.
