Authorities in India recently announced that as a result of a collision between a bus and a tanker in northern India, 37 people lost their lives, while 19 others sustained injuries.

According to the police, this incident occurred on Wednesday, July 10th, when two motor vehicles, a tanker and a passenger bus, collided in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred precisely as the bus travelled from the eastern state of Bihar towards New Delhi, resulting in a collision with the tanker.

Indian authorities have termed this traffic incident as “tragic,” highlighting the ongoing issue of fatal traffic accidents in India.

The country consistently records the highest number of fatalities due to traffic accidents globally. Indian roads are notoriously hazardous, with many vehicles being old or in poor condition.

These deadly incidents underscore India’s urgent need for improved road safety measures. Despite efforts to enforce traffic rules and regulations, the frequency of such accidents remains alarmingly high.
