Dr. Anatalia Moore is an NHS GP and aesthetics doctor with over 11 years of clinical experience.

Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she shared a “quick way to decode” the best options for getting rid of your dark circles.

“As with everything related to the eye, to actually get results you have to treat the cause of what you are seeing,” Moore said.

“Dark circles tend to be caused by more than one issue, so a combined approach tends to get the best results.”

PROBLEM PIGMENTATION

Moore said dark circles that appear brown or yellow are caused by pigmentation.

An aesthetics clinic can banish them using injectable treatment polynucleotides, however, at-home skincare can also be effective.

“Low dose retinoids, licorice root, kojic acid, arbutin, vitamin C,” she recommended.

Licorice root is available for $12.95 and Kojic acid serum infused with vitamin C is $15.99 at Walmart.

Both products have received over 4 stars out of a possible 5 from delighted shoppers.

Minimalist 2% Alpha Arbutin Serum for Anti-Pigmentation costs $10.99.

Customers have penned glowing reviews about how it makes their skin feel, and many say they quickly saw a visible improvement.”

TERRIBLE THINNING

Moore said thinning skin will make dark circles appear purple or blue.

“For this use skincare including low-dose retinoids and peptides,” she said.

“Clinic treatments such as polynucleotides, exosomes, tear trough filler.”

Moore said these treatments and cheek filler may also be effective for targeting hollowness caused by volume loss.

AWFUL ALLERGIES

She revealed that puffy or red dark circles are an indication of an allergy.

She recommended treating them with antihistamines, eye drops, and avoiding makeup.

“A combined approach of using at-home skin care and in-clinic treatments always gets faster and more marked results as the ways on which they work tend to complement each other,” she said.

Moore previously spoke to The U.S. Sun about the “superstar” anti-aging product that she uses in her own beauty routine.

She said moisturizers such as Obagi Hydrate and Hydrate Lux, hydrate and “stabilize” the skin.

When the skin functions as it should it can heal faster therefore causing fewer wrinkles and milder breakouts.

Obagi Hydrate moisturizer is available on the brand’s site for $78 as a one-time purchase or a $66.30 subscription.
